There I was born, in 1st October 1978 .my dad was works there .I spent almost my childhood there, take my primary study there, open my eyes on Arabian culture there. I can't forget this velvet days with friends, in nice places through the city. the times near the sea, in the gardens, in everywhere. I leaved Benghazi in late 1989 to EGYPT.

Benghazi. beautiful city on southern coast of the Mediterranean sea  ,      Benghazi reigns as even more attractive to the visitor than Tripoli. Some will find Tripoli a bit dull. There might not be much more happening in Benghazi, but there is activity to watch, or even join. Not night life! Afternoon life, and early evening life. For both sexes, all ages. Benghazi has more of the relaxed attitude Arab cities in other countries are known for. People hang around, look at one another, talk and enjoy life.
Benghazi is a big city, with nearly 1 million inhabitants. But it remains architecturally attractive, overlooking the sea and a marina, and many beaches make up the coastline. Most of Benghazi are modern buildings, but the old city is good, with covered alleyways. It's especially crowded on Fridays, when people fill the streets, shopping. This should be your leading star when staying in Benghazi, follow the crowd shopping.

The oldest settlement in the Benghazi region that we can date back to is from the 6th century B.C , known as `Euesperides’. During the Ptolemaic period Benghazi’s people were moved to an area closer to the sea ( where later on the actual Benghazi grew into the town it is today ), and was known as Berenice. Modern day Benghazi is one of the most important commercial towns in Libya ( thanks to the port ), with one of the highest population rates along the Cyrenaica. Skyscrapers and hotels mirror themselves in the artificial sea water lake ( named Buzeena Al Magreen ), which occupies one side of the town whose water arrives directly from the port.
